Fearless. Believe it or not, Max Lucado has outdone himself this time! At first glance this would appear to be just another book to fill the shelves of Christian and secular stores. But it is far more than that. This is a book that speaks volumes to a world that faces fear perhaps more than any generation, and that needs to hear a positive message in the midst of all the confusion.
Fear is center stage in our lives. The news carries word of a continued failing economy and bailouts, worldwide disasters, rumors and ravages of war. On the personal level we experience angry outbursts by an irate boss or spouse, loss or potential loss of a job due to cutbacks or inefficiency. Plus the daily situations which bring fear, such as fender benders, mechanical breakdowns, forced entries, physical harm, sickness and disease which potentially come to us or those we love.
In the midst of all this, Max Lucado gives us hope for the future! For some people it seems almost to be unbelievable that they could live a life without fear, but the fact remains that we can overcome fear. We can develop a faith that will conquer the fear in our life.
Our trust in a loving, caring heavenly father will make all the difference. He knows the pain and fear the world can cause. He sent His son right into the midst of it. It everything is going bad and there is cause to fear, keep trust Him! Max quotes one of his friends, “Everything will work out in the end. If it’s not working out, it’s not the end.”
Max has outdone himself this time! Fearless is destined to be considered a classic of the 21st century.

Review of "The Patriot's Bible" by Thomas Nelson Publishing Co.

What an amazing and most interesting concept for a Bible. For publication and classification purposes it is called a “study” Bible, but for practical purposes it is a most unique representation of American history.
Throughout the volume you find statements such as the one located in 2 Chronicles 1:10, “William McKinley, placed his hand on 2 Chronicles 2:10 as he took the presidential oath of office in 1897.”
The introductions to each of the books of the Bible give examples of how that particular book made it’s impact on America, whether that be in the framing of our constitution and laws, in the everyday life of the people, or even in the conversations and dealings we have in the worldwide community of nations. The same would stand true for the study notes which are interspersed within the text.
There are twelve full-color sections which deal with the entirety of American history from Colonial America to the present day. Two other interesting sections include first, a complete listing of all the Presidents from George Washington to Barack H. Obama; and second, a listing of all the states of the United States in the order in which they were admitted into the Union and also the date of that admittance.
The Patriot’s Bible would be a most welcome addition to a lover of America and how the scriptures have made an impact on the ideals and values of our great nation.

Put Your Dream To the Test is one of the most practical books that has ever been written for a dreamer. He begins by challenging the reader to take personal ownership of a dream. We can never see the dream come to fruition unless it becomes ours.
Once the dream has become internalized, then the importance of getting the dream to reality is found in answering ten questions. Examples of three which seem to be the key ones are …
* The Passion Question, “Does my dream compel me to follow it?”
* The People Question, “Have I included the people I need to realize my dream?”
* The Cost Question, “Am I willing to pay the price for my dream?”

To remind us that making success of a dream may require some hard work.
